Ahrends Grips : Ordering

To order, please give us a complete description of the grip you would like. If there is a shade (light or dark) or color (orange or red as in cocobolo) please let us know your wishes. We will do our best to pick something to match your description. Please be aware that most of the woods will change their character in time.

We will need a mailing address (we ship USPS) and either a phone number or email address.

Here is an example of a 1911 description: 1 cocobolo, diamond pattern, flat bottom, 1911 government model, and the darker the better. This would be a $50 grip. A revolver grip description: 1 moradillo, N frame, round to square conversion, retro-target grip. This would be a $60 grip. We charge $6 shipping per order no matter how many sets you order.

1911 Grips

Our standard 1911 grip comes with a beveled or flat bottom for either Officers or Government Models. All 1911 grips include the relief cut on the back of the right panel for an ambi-safety.

We offer non-standard 1911 grips. This would include the elimination of the ambi relief cut, covering the main spring pin or both. For a non-standard grip there is a $10 charge.

Finishes

Standard Our standard finish is a commercial grade polyurethane. It is a matt finish and very tough. All sprayed on finishes can be softened by solvents and oils. Many of the gun oils and solvents on the market have an alcohol base that may damage the finish. This finish will in time wear and can chip. We have used this finish for close to 30 years and it has proven itself over time. This is the same finish we applied to our hardwood floors, it wears very well.
Optional A Tung oil finish is also available. This is one great finish and really helps to bring out the figure and depth of the wood. It’s in the wood and there is nothing to chip or wear. I personally love the look and feel of this finish.
